álbum The Idiot. David Bowie regravou a faixa e lançou primeiro no álbum
Let’s Dance, o décimo quinto álbum de estúdio de David Bowie, em 14 de
abril de 1983. Foi lançada como single em 31 de maio de 1983, com “Shake It” no
lado B. A produção ficou por conta de Nile Rodgers. “China Girl” é uma das
músicas mais sedutoras e marcantes da fase comercial de Bowie nos anos 80. Na
letra, ele mistura desejo, obsessão e um toque de ironia ao falar de uma mulher
asiática, usando imagens sensuais e quase possessivas. A canção tem um tom
ambíguo, ao mesmo tempo romântica e um pouco colonialista. Musicalmente, a
faixa tem um arranjo pop-rock dançante e bem-produzido, com linha de baixo
