Foi produzida por Steve Lillywhite. Reflete o tumulto espiritual da banda no momento, onde Bono, Larry e Edge estavam brigando pra saber se continuavam na banda ou seguiam suas crenças católicas. Ele fala que October é uma imagem, pois viveram tudo nos anos 60, tinham carros, geladeiras, mandamos o homem pra lua e todo mundo pensava que a humanidade era massa demais. Ai chegou os anos 70 e 80 e é um tempo frio, como o mês de outubro. É depois da colheita, as árvores estão despidas e nós podemos ver que não somos tão espertos assim, afinal tinha milhares de pessoas sem emprego, e ao mesmo tempo tempo temos bombas atomicas e foguetes.
