Escrita por
Billy Idol e Steve Stevens, Eyes Without a Face foi gravada em 1983 e lançada
primeiro no álbum Rebel Yell, o segundo álbum de estúdio de Billy Idol, em 4 de
novembro de 1983. Foi lançada como single em abril de 1984 nos Estados Unidos e
junho de 1984 no Reino Unido, com Blue Highway no lado B. A produção ficou por
conta de Keith Forsey. Eyes Without a Face é uma balada gótica e melancólica
que se destaca no som mais agressivo do álbum. Na letra Billy Idol canta sobre
um amor vazio e superficial, usando a imagem de “olhos sem rosto” como metáfora
para alguém que parece bonito por fora mas não tem alma ou conexão real. O
refrão “Les yeux sans visage” (olhos sem rosto, em francês) dá um ar misterioso
e cinematográfico à música, inspirado no filme de terror francês de 1960. Musicalmente
a faixa é uma das mais atmosféricas de Billy Idol, com sintetizadores
marcantes, guitarra atmosférica de Steve Stevens, um groove dançante e a voz
rouca e expressiva de Idol, criando um contraste perfeito entre melodia pop e
