Escrita por John Lennon, foi gravada entre julho de agosto de 1973 e lançada em 29 de outubro de 1973 no disco de mesmo nome e tambem saiu em compacto com Meat City como Lado B no mesmo dia. Chegou ao número 18 do Billboard Hot100 e número 26 nos charts britânicos. Começou a ser escrita em 1969 e tinha como título Make love not war. E foi juntada com outra música chamada I promise, também da mesma época. O título Mind Games foi escrita após John ler o livro The guide to Inner Space, de Robert Masters. A letra diz que pensamentos positivos são a resposta pra felicidade. John cantou, tocou guitarra, slide guitar e clavichord. David Spinozza tocou guitarra. Ken Ascher tocou Mellotron. Gordon Edwards tocou baixo e Jim Keltner tocou bateria. Foi regravada por Kevin Spacey e Sinead O'Connor, entre outros artistas.
