Escrita por David Gates, foi gravada em 1972 e lançada no disco Guitar man, em outubro de 1972. Foi lançada em compacto posteriormente em 1973 no compacto que tinha Didn't even know her name como Lado B. Chegou ao número 15 nos charts pop americanos e número 6 no Canadá e numero 8 na Nova Zelandia.

Gates escreveu a música após ver o filme Breakfast at Tiffany's, com Audrey Hepburn.

Foi regravada por Perry Como, entre outros artistas. A atriz Aubrey Plaza recebeu seu nome por causa dessa música.
