Sairia também no disco de estréia de Ozzy, chamado Blizzard of Ozzy, em 12 de setembro de 1980. Foi produzida por Lee Kerslake, Bob Daisley e Randy Rhoads. A letra fala da guerra fria e do medo da aniquilação total da humanidade que existia durante aquele período. Guitar world colocou-a como tendo o nono melhor solo de guitarra de todos os tempos. Também a VH1 colocou-a como a nona melhor canção de heavy metal de todos os tempos. Chegou ao número 49 no Reino Unido. Ozzy Osbourne cantou. Randy Rhoads tocou guitarra. Escrita por Bono Vox, The Edge, Larry Mullen Jr. e Adam Clayton, foi gravada entre julho e setembro de 1980, no Windmill Lane Studios e lançada no disco Boy, o de estréia da banda, em 20 de outubro de 1980. Foi produzida por Steve Lillywhite. An cat dubh significa um gato preto em irlandês. A canção fala de um relacionamento que Bono teve durante o período em que havia brigado com sua namorada, Ali Hewson. Fala sobre sexo. E as imagens são um gato preto e um pássaro. O gato mata o pássaro e brinca com ele antes de dormir ao seu lado.
