408 – Bob Dylan – It's all over now, baby blue (1965)

Escrita por Bob Dylan, foi gravada em 15 de janeiro de 1965, nos estúdios da Columbia Records, em New York City. Foi lançada em 22 de março de 1965 no disco Bringing it all back home. Na gravação só tem Dylan com seu violão e gaita e William E. Lee com seu baixo. Nada mais.

A letra é pesadamente influenciada pela poesia simbolista. Foi regravada por Joan Baez, Bryan Ferry, Van Morrison, Them, The Byrds, The Animals, Link Wray, Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell, Mariane Faithfull, Grateful Dead, entre outros.

Foi gravada por Dylan no mesmo dia que ele gravou Mr. Tambourine man, Gates of Eden e It's alright, Ma (I'm only bleeding). Frases como Take what you have gathered from coincidence se refere a filosofia I Ching, onde a coincidencia significa mais do que a sorte.

Dylan disse que estava com essa música na cabeça fazia um tempo, antes de gravar e quando ele começou a escrever, ele lembrou da música Baby blue, de Gene Vincent. Dylan disse que essa era uma de suas favoritas quando fazia high school.


Foi feita uma versão em português por Caetano Veloso e Péricles Cavalcante, gravada por Gal Costa e depois muitos anos regravada pelos Engenheiros do Hawaii.
