Escrita por Neil Young, foi gravada em 22 de outubro de 1978, no Cow Palace, em Daly City, California. Foi lançada em 22 de junho de 1979, no disco Rust never sleeps, o décimo da carreira de Neil. Saiu também em compacto, em 27 de agosto de 1979, com My my hey hey (Out of the blue) como Lado B. Foi produzida por Neil Young, David Briggs e Tim Mulligan. A canção foi bastante influenciada pelo punk rock que estava em voga no final da década de 70. Neil estava em contato com a banda punk american chamada Devo. A canção foi também escrita falando do sentimento de Neil de que ele estava ficando cada mais irrelevante no cenário musical. Foi regravada pelo Oasis e Dave Matthews, entre outros artistas.
