Escrita por Johnny Cash, foi lançada por ele em 21 de junho de 1955 em um compacto que tinja Hey Porter como Lado A. Foi a música que içou a carreira de Cash e logo ele começou a fazer turnê com Elvis e demais artistas da época.

Cash havia voltado da Aeronáutica em 1954 e assinado com a Sun Records, mesma gravadora de Elvis na época. Luther Perkins tocou guitarra e Marshall Grant tocou baixo.

Foi regravada por Elvis Costello e Norah Jones, entre outros artistas
