Eleanor
sobrevoando a propriedade.
Lennon
disse pra Fonda, “Listen mate, shut up about that stuff”, cale a
boca acerca desse assunto!!. E completou dizendo, “You're making me
feel like I never been born”, você está fazendo eu me sentir como
chao.
George
Harrison disse que ajudou Lennon a juntar 3 diferentes partes que ele
tinha escrito.
She said,
She said,
she said foi a última canção gravada durante as sessões de
Revolver. Levaram 9 horas pra ensaiar e gravar a canção.
John cantou,
tocou órgão Hammond e tocou guitarra ritmica. George Harrison tocou
guitarra solo, baixo e fez backing vocals. Ringo tocou bateria e
chocalho.
A letra:
She said, "I
know what it's like to be dead. I know what it is to be sad." And
she's making me feel like I've never been born
I said, "Who
put all those things in your head? Things that make me feel that
I'm mad. And you're making me feel like I've never been
born."
She said, "You don't understand what I
said." I said, "No, no, no, you're wrong. When I was
a boy everything was right, Everything was right."
I
said, "Even though you know what you know, I know that I'm
ready to leave 'Cause you're making me feel like I've never been
born."
She said, "You don't understand what I
said." I said, "No, no, no, you're wrong. When I was
a boy everything was right, Everything was right."
I
said, "Even though you know what you know, I know that I'm
ready to leave 'Cause you're making me feel like I've never been
born."
She said, "I know what it's like to be
dead. I know what it is to be sad. I know what it's like to be
dead..."
Escrita Paul
abre a música é bem interessante. I was 21 years when I wrote this
song, I am 22 now, but I won't be for long.
escrever...
A letra:
I was twenty-one years
when I wrote this song
I'm twenty-two now, but I won't be for
long
Time hurries on
And the leaves that are green turn to
brown
And they whither with the wind
And they crumble in your
hand
Once my heart was filled with love of a girl
I held
her close, but she faded in the night
Like a poem I meant to
write
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they
wither with the wind
And they crumble in your hand
I threw
a pebble in a brook
And watched the ripples run away
And they
never made a sound
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And
they wither with the wind
And they crumble in your hand
Hello,
Hello, Hello, Hello
Good-bye, Good-bye
Good-bye,
Good-bye
That's all there is
É a décima
canção do disco Pet Sounds.
Here today retrata um
pessimismo que precede um otimismo anterior. O fim do relacionamento.
é a melhor música do Pet Sounds.
Brian Wilson
A letra:
It starts with
just a little glance now Right away you're thinkin' 'bout romance
now You know you ought to take it slower But you just can't
wait to get to know her
A brand new love affair is such a
beautiful thing But if you're not careful think about the pain it
can bring
It makes you feel so bad It makes your heart feel
sad It makes your days go wrong It makes your nights so
long
You've got to keep in mind love is here today And it's
gone tomorrow It's here and gone so fast
Right now you
think that she's perfection This time is really an exception Well
you know I hate to be a downer But I'm the guy she left before you
found her
Well I'm not saying you won't have a good love with
her But I keep on remembering things like they were
She
made me feel so bad She made my heart feel sad She made my days
go wrong And made my nights so long
You've got to keep in
mind love is here today And it's gone tomorrow It's here and
gone so fast
Keep in mind love is here today And it's gone
tomorrow It's here and gone so fast
Love is here today And
it's gone tomorrow It's here and gone so fast
John tocou
guitarra ritmica, harmonium e cantou. Paul tocou baixo e fez backing
vocals. George Harrison tocou guitarra solo e maracas. Ringo tocou
bateria.
A letra:

B.
Mick Jagger
cantou. Keith Richards tocou guitarra eletrica e fez backing vocals.
Brian Jones tocou guitarra elétrica. Bill Wyman tocou baixo e
Charlie Watts tocou bateria.
A letra:
You're the kind
of person you meet at certain dismal, dull affairs Center of a
crowd, talking much too loud, running up and down the stairs Well,
it seems to me that you have seen too much in too few years And
though you've tried you just can't hide your eyes are edged with
tears
You better stop, look around Here it comes, here it
comes, here it comes, here it comes Here comes your nineteenth
nervous breakdown
When you were a child you were a treated
kind But you were never brought up right You were always
spoiled with a thousand toys but still you cried all night Your
mother who neglected you owes a million dollars tax And your
father's still perfecting ways of making sealing wax
You
better stop, look around Here it comes, here it comes, here it
comes, here it comes Here comes your nineteenth nervous
breakdown Oh, who's to blame, that girl's just insane Well,
nothing I do don't seem to work It only seems to make the matters
worse. Oh, please
You were still in school when you had that
fool who really messed your mind And after that you turned your
back on treating people kind On our first trip I tried so hard to
rearrange your mind But after awhile I realized you were
disarranging mine
You better stop, look around Here it
comes, here it comes, here it comes, here it comes Here comes your
nineteenth nervous breakdown Oh, who's to blame, that girl's just
insane Well, nothing I do don't seem to work It only seems to
make the matters worse. Oh, please
When you were a child you
were treated kind But you were never brought up right You were
always spoiled with a thousand toys but still you cried all
night Your mother who neglected you owes a million dollars tax And
you father's still perfecting ways of making sealing wax
You
better stop, look around Here it comes, here comes your nineteenth
nervous breakdown
maio de 1966 no disco Blonde on Blonde.
A canção
começa com um resumo da briga. “When she said don't waste your
words, they're just lies, I cried she was deaf”.
estava surda”.
A canção
protagonista feminina cai no chão. Nessa hora, o protagonista
Soul. A melodia, a letra e o tempo ¾ são similares. Norwegian wood
A letra:
When she
said "Don't waste your words, they're just lies" I
cried she was deaf And she worked on my face until breaking my
eyes Then said, "What else you got left" It was then
that I got up to leave But she said, "Don't forget Everybody
must give something back For something they get".
I
stood there and hummel I tapped on her drum and asked her how
come And she buttoned her boot And straightened her suit Then
she said, "Don't get cute" So I forced my hands in my
pockets And felt with my thumbs And gallantly handed her My
very last piece of gum.
She threw me outside I stood in the
dirt where ev'ryone walked And after finding I'd Forgotten my
shirt I went back and knocked I waited in the hallway, she
went to get it And I tried to make sense Out of that picture
of you in your wheelchair That leaned up against ...
Her
Jamaican rum And when she did come, I asked her for some She
said, "No dear" I said, "Your words aren't
clear You'd better spit out your gum" She screamed till
her face got so red Then she fell on the floor And I covered
her up and then Thought I'd go look through her drawer. And
when I was through I filled up my shoe And brought it to
you And you, you took me in You loved me then You didn't
waste time And I, I never took much I never asked for your
crutch Now dont ask for mine.

Essas duas
A inspiração
daquelas, somente no Taití.
experimentar novos efeitos sonoros.
John cantou,
fez backing vocals e tocou guitarra ritmica, uma 1965 Gretsch
Nashille. Paul fez backing vocals e tocou um baixo 1964 Rickenbacker
4001S. George Harrison fez backing vocals e tocou uma guitarra solo
Gibson SG. Ringo Starr tocou pandeiro e bateria Ludwig.
Chegou ao
número 23 nos charts pop americanos. Cjegou ao número 1 no Reino
Unido.
Q104.3
regravada por Petula Clark, The Jam, The Clash, Gregg Allman, The
Grateful Dead, entre outros artistas.
A letra:
If the rain
comes they run and hide their heads They might as well be dead If
the rain comes, if the rain comes
When the sun shines they
slip into the shade (when the sun shines down) And sip their
lemonade (when the sun shines down) When the sun shines, when
the sun shines
Rain, I don't mind Shine, the weather's
fine
I can show you that when it starts to rain (when the
rain comes down) Everything's the same (when the rain comes
down) I can show you, I can show you
Rain, I don't
mind Shine, the weather's fine
Can you hear me, that when
it rains and shines (when it rains and shines) It's just a
state of mind? (when it rains and shines) Can you hear me, can
you hear me?

A canção é a historia
acabar as tarefas impossiveis que ela quer tambem, ela entregará as
tarefas que ele quer. As origens da canção remontam à 1670, mas
ela veio evoluindo. O nome Scarborough Fair começou a ser usado no
século e o refrão parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme começou a ser
usado no século 19.
Eles
gravaram um disco chamado Encores from the Abbaye. Eles usaram a
Garfunkel.
A versão de Simon and
outubro de 1966 no disco Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme.
Paul Simon conheceu a
música em 1965 em Londres. Antes de Paul Simon conhecer a música,
Bob Dylan pegou a melodia emprestada pra criar Girl from the North
Country, de 1963.
Foi regravada por Andy
Williams, Sergio Mendes, Sarah Brightman, entre outros artistas.
A letra:
Are you going to
Scarborough Fair: Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. Remember
me to one who lives there. She once was a true love of mine.
Tell
her to make me a cambric shirt: On the side of a hill in the
deep forest green.)
Parsley, sage, rosemary
and thyme; (Tracing of sparrow on snow-crested brown.)
Without no seams nor
needle work,
(Blankets and
bedclothes the child of the mountain) Then she'll be a true
love of mine.
(Sleeps unaware of the
clarion call.)
Tell her to find me an
acre of land:
(On the side of a hill
in the sprinkling of leaves.) Parsley, sage, rosemary and
thyme;
(Washes the grave with
silvery tears.) Between the salt water and the sea strands,
(A soldier cleans and
polishes a gun.) Then she'll be a true love of mine.
(Sleeps unaware of the
clarion call.)
Tell her to reap it with a
sickle of leather: (War bellows blazing in scarlet battalions.)
Parsley, sage, rosemary
and thyme; (Generals order their soldiers to kill.)
And gather it all in a
bunch of heather,
(And to fight for a
cause they have long ago forgotten.) Then she'll be a true
love of mine.
Are you going to
Scarborough Fair: Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. Remember
me to one who lives there. She once was a true love of mine.
compacto que tinha You're so good to me como Lado B. Foi também
A versão
2 no Reino Unido.Também número 1 na Alemanha, Austria, Noruega,
Suíça, Holanda, Africa do Sul e Nova Zelândia.
mudou a letra e alguns acordes. The Wrecking Crew fez a parte
instrumental.
A gravação
ocorreu por sugestão de Al Jardine. Brian estava no piano e Jardine
No Pet
Sounds, essa canção fecha o primeiro lado. Um disco romantico e
introspectivo.
Love. Backing vocal feito por Dennis Wilson, Al Jardine e Carl
Wilson, que tambem tocou guitarra de 12 cordas. Entre os músicos que
gravaram o instrumental, estavam Hal Blaine na bateria e Carol Kaye
no baixo.
A letra:
We come on the
sloop John B My grandfather and me Around Nassau town we did
roam Drinking all night Got into a fight Well I feel so
broke up I want to go home
So hoist up the John B's
sail See how the mainsail sets Call for the Captain ashore Let
me go home, let me go home I wanna go home, yeah yeah Well I
feel so broke up I wanna go home
The first mate he got
drunk And broke in the Cap'n's trunk The constable had to come
and take him away Sheriff John Stone Why don't you leave me
alone, yeah yeah Well I feel so broke up I wanna go home
So
hoist up the John B's sail See how the mainsail sets Call for
the Captain ashore Let me go home, let me go home I wanna go
home, let me go home Why don't you let me go home (Hoist up the
John B's sail) Hoist up the John B I feel so broke up I wanna
go home Let me go home
The poor cook he caught the fits And
threw away all my grits And then he took and he ate up all of my
corn Let me go home Why don't they let me go home This is
the worst trip I've ever been on
So hoist up the John B's
sail See how the mainsail sets Call for the Captain ashore Let
me go home, let me go home I wanna go home, let me go home Why
don't you let me go home
No
final acaba dizendo: “A love that should have lasted years”.
John Lennon
e George Harrison não participaram da canção. Paul cantou, tocou
baixo, piano e clavicord. Ringo tocou bateria, maracas e pandeiro.
Alan Civil tocou a corneta francesa.
Harris, Caetano Veloso, Paul McCartney, Rickie Lee Jones, Rick
Springfield, entre outros.
A letra:
Your day
breaks, your mind aches You find that all the words of kindness
linger on When she no longer needs you
She wakes up, she
makes up She takes her time and doesn't feel she has to hurry She
no longer needs you
And in her eyes you see nothing No sign
of love behind her tears Cried for no one A love that should
have lasted years
You want her, you need her And yet you
don't believe her when she said her love is dead You think she
needs you
And in her eyes you see nothing No sign of love
behind her tears Cried for no one A love that should have
lasted years
You stay home, she goes out She says that long
ago she knew someone but now he's gone She doesn't need him
Your
day breaks, your mind aches There will be times when all the
things she said will fill your head You won't forget her
And
in her eyes you see nothing No sign of love behind her tears Cried
for no one A love that should have lasted years
A letra fala
A frase de início diz: “What a drag it is getting old”.
Algo como: que chato é ficar velho!!
Fala sobre o
fardo de ser mãe naquele tempo. Eles dizem: “Kids are different
today/I hear every mother say/Mother needs something today to calm
her down/And though she's not really ill, there's a little yellow
pill/She goes running for the shelter of a mother's little helper/And
it helps her on her away, get's trough her busy day”. Ficaria algo
mamãe/Que a acalma e a ajuda durante o dia corrido”.
E continua
em uma frase: “Doctor, please/Some more of these/Outside the
door/She took four more”.
experiencia deles com drogas, eles fazem um alerta: “And if you
take more of those/You will get an overdose/No more running for the
shelter of a mother's little helper/They just helped you on your
way/Through you busy dying day”.
A canção
slide e fez backing vocals. Brian Jones tocou violão. Bill Wyman
tocou baixo. Charlie Watts tocou bateria. Jack Nitzsche tocou
“Niitsche-Phone”.
A letra:
What a drag it
is getting old "Kids are different today," I hear
every mother say Mother needs something today to calm her down And
though she's not really ill There's a little yellow pill She
goes running for the shelter of a mother's little helper And it
helps her on her way, gets her through her busy day "Things
are different today," I hear every mother say Cooking
fresh food for a husband's just a drag So she buys an instant cake
and she burns her frozen steak And goes running for the shelter of
a mother's little helper And two help her on her way, get her
through her busy day Doctor please, some more of these Outside
the door, she took four more What a drag it is getting old "Men
just aren't the same today" I hear every mother say They
just don't appreciate that you get tired They're so hard to
satisfy, You can tranquilize your mind So go running for the
shelter of a mother's little helper And four help you through the
night, help to minimize your plight Doctor please, some more of
these Outside the door, she took four more What a drag it is
getting old "Life's just much too hard today," I hear
every mother say The pursuit of happiness just seems a bore And
if you take more of those, you will get an overdose No more
running for the shelter of a mother's little helper They just
helped you on your way, through your busy dying day

abriu seu disco Blonde on blonde. Chegou ao número 7 nos charts
britânicos e número 2 nos charts americanos. Foi gravada em
Nashville, nos estúdios da Columbia Records. Tem uma Brass Band
fazendo som no background. O refrão se tornou controverso pois diz
que “Everybody must get stoned”, ou seja, todo mundo precisa
ficar doidão.
Foi
regravada pelos Black Crowes, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Lenny
Kravitz, entre tantos outros artistas.
A letra:
Well, they'll
stone ya when you're trying to be so good They'll stone ya just
a-like they said they would They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to
go home Then they'll stone ya when you're there all alone But I
would not feel so all alone Everybody must get stoned.
Well,
they'll stone ya when you're walkin' 'long the street They'll
stone ya when you're tryin' to keep your seat They'll stone ya
when you're walkin' on the floor They'll stone ya when you're
walkin' to the door But I would not feel so all alone Everybody
must get stoned.
They'll stone ya when you're at the breakfast
table They'll stone ya when you are young and able They'll
stone ya when you're tryin' to make a buck They'll stone ya and
then they'll say "good luck" Tell ya what, I would not
feel so all alone Everybody must get stoned.
Well, They'll
stone you and say that it's the end Then they'll stone you and
then they'll come back again They'll stone you when you're riding
in your car They'll stone you when you're playing your guitar Yes,
but I would not feel so all alone Everybody must get
stoned.
Well, they'll stone you when you walk all
alone They'll stone you when you are walking home They'll stone
you and then say you are brave They'll stone you when you are set
down in your grave But I would not feel so all alone Everybody
must get stoned.

tempos. A inspiração pra Paul veio da canção God only knows
Beach Boys, no disco Pet Sounds.
1965 chamado Rubber Soul, evidenciando o intercâmbio que as duas
bandas estavam fazendo.
A posição de Here,
there and everywhere no disco Revolver fica depois de Love you to e
Gentry, The Lettermen, Andy Williams, David Gilmour, entre outros
tantos artistas.
Paul tocou
baixo, fez os vocais principais, violões e estalou os dedos. John
fez backing vocals e estalou os dedos. George Harrison tocou guitarra
solo, fez backing vocals e estalou os dedos. Ringo tocou bateria e
estalou os dedos.
A letra:
To lead a
better life I need my love to be here...
Here, making each day
of the year Changing my life with the wave of her hand Nobody
can deny that there's something there
There, running my hands
through her hair Both of us thinking how good it can be Someone
is speaking but she doesn't know he's there
I want her
everywhere and if she's beside me I know I need never care But
to love her is to need her everywhere Knowing that love is to
share
Each one believing that love never dies Watching her
eyes and hoping I'm always there
I want her everywhere and if
she's beside me I know I need never care But to love her is to
need her everywhere Knowing that love is to share
Each one
believing that love never dies Watching her eyes and hoping I'm
always there
I will be there and everywhere Here, there and
everywhere

Foi regravada pelos The
Seekers, Tori Amos, Grateful Dead, entre tantos outros artistas.
A letra:
Slow down, you move too
fast. You got to make the morning last. Just kicking down the
cobble stones. Looking for fun and feelin' groovy.
Hello
lamppost, What cha knowing? I've come to watch your flowers
growing. Ain't cha got no rhymes for me? Doot-in'
doo-doo, Feelin' groovy.
Got no deeds to do, No promises
to keep. I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep. Let the
morning time drop all its petals on me. Life, I love you, All
is groovy.

A letra fala
velhos e pudessem casar. Como todas as músicas do Pet Sounds, Brian
Wilson usou a técnica de Phil Spector chamada Wall of sound.
Pitchfork
Media colocou Wouldn't be nice como número 7 das 200 maiores canções
dos anos 1960s.
Tony Asher
que trouxe o tema pra Brian. A inocencia quando se é muito jovem.
Brian então fez a música e Tony a letra.
As outras
Nessa, a história mudou.
Unido.
Brian Wilson
cantou, Mike Love cantou e fez backing vocals, Al Jardine fez backing
vocals, Bruce Johnston fez backing vocals, Carl Wilson fez Backing
Vocals e Dennis Wilson fez backing vocals.

Frank Marocco sanfona, Jay Migliori sax baritono, Bill Pitman
guitarra, Ray Pohlman bandolim e Lyle Ritz baixo acustico.
Foi
regravada, entre outros, por Elton John.
A letra:
Wouldn't it be
nice if we were older Then we wouldn't have to wait so long And
wouldn't it be nice to live together In the kind of world where we
belong
You know its gonna make it that much better When we
can say goodnight and stay together
Wouldn't it be nice if we
could wake up In the morning when the day is new And after
having spent the day together Hold each other close the whole
night through
Happy times together we've been spending I
wish that every kiss was neverending Wouldn't it be nice
Maybe
if we think and wish and hope and pray it might come true Baby
then there wouldn't be a single thing we couldn't do We could be
married And then we'd be happy
Wouldn't it be nice
You
know it seems the more we talk about it It only makes it worse to
live without it But lets talk about it Wouldn't it be
nice

In the town

We all live in a yellow
submarine Yellow submarine, yellow submarine We all live in a
yellow submarine Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
And our
friends are all on board Many more of them live next door And
the band begins to play
We all live in a yellow
submarine Yellow submarine, yellow submarine We all live in a
yellow submarine Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

thumb.
A letra
Camille Paglia disse que Under my thumb marcou o começo da briga
dela com as feministas mais radicais.
Mick Jagger
cantou e bateu palmas. Keith Richards tocou guitarra elétrica. Brian
Jones tocou biloão e marimba. Bill Wyman tocou baixo e baixo fuzz. E
Charlie Watts tocou bateria.
Foi
regravada por Del Shannon, The Who, Blind Faith, The Kingsmen, Tina
Turner, entre outros artistas.
A letra:
Under my
thumb The girl who once had me down Under my thumb The girl
who once pushed me around It's down to me The difference in the
clothes she wears Down to me, the change has come, She's under
my thumb Ain't it the truth babe?
Under my thumb The
squirmin' dog who's just had her day Under my thumb A girl who
has just changed her ways It's down to me, yes it is The way
she does just what she's told Down to me, the change has
come She's under my thumb Ah, ah, say it's alright
Under my
thumb A siamese cat of a girl Under my thumb She's the
sweetest, hmmm, pet in the world It's down to me The way she
talks when she's spoken to Down to me, the change has come, She's
under my thumb Ah, take it easy babe Yeah It's down to me,
oh yeah The way she talks when she's spoken to Down to me, the
change has come, She's under my thumb Yeah, it feels
alright
Under my thumb Her eyes are just kept to herself Under
my thumb, well I I can still look at someone else It's down to
me, oh that's what I said The way she talks when she's spoken
to Down to me, the change has come, She's under my thumb Say,
it's alright. Say it's all... Say it's all... Take it easy
babe Take it easy babe Feels alright Take it, take it easy
babe.
Escrita
Tennessee e foi lançada no famoso disco duplo do artista Blonde on
blonde, em 20 de junho de 1966. No concerto de 30 anos de carreira de
Bob Dylan, em 1992 no Madison Square Garden, em New York City, George
Harrison cantou Absolutely sweet Marie. A letra é uma típica poesia
dylanesca.
onde ele estava. O que seria isso? Drogas? Aqui ele diz uma frase que
ficou famosa: “To live outside the law you must be honest”.
Well,
your railroad gate, you know I just can't jump it Sometimes it
gets so hard, you see I'm just sitting here, beating on my
trumpet With all these promises you left for me But where are
you tonight, Sweet Marie?
Well,
I waited for you when I was a-half sick Yes, I waited for you when
you hated me Well, I waited for you inside of the frozen
traffic When you knew I had some other place to be Now, where
are you tonight, Sweet Marie?
Well,
anybody can be just like me, obviously But then, now again, not
too many can be like you, fortunately
Well,
six white horses that you did promise Were finally delivered down
to the penitentiary But to live outside the law, you must be
honest I know you always say that you agree Alright, so where
are you tonight, Sweet Marie?
Well,
I don't know how it happened But the river-boat captain, he knows
my fate But everybody else, even yourself They're just gonna
have to wait
Well,
I got the fever down in my pockets The Persian drunkard, he
follows me Yes, I can take him to your house, but I can't unlock
it You see, you forgot to leave me with the key Ah, where are
you tonight, Sweet Marie?
Well,
I've been in jail, where all the mail showed That a man can't give
his address out to bad company And now I stand here, looking at
your yellow railroad In the ruins of your balcony Wondering
where you are tonight, Sweet Marie
