Escrita por Carl Douglas, foi gravada em 1974 e lançada em 1974 no compacto com Gamblin' man como Lado B. Saiu também no disco Kung fu figthing and other love songs. Chegou ao topo dos charts no Reino Unido, Austria, Bélgica, França, Irlanda, Holanda, Nova Zelandia, Africa do Sul, Alemanha Ocientral, Australia, Canadá e Estados Unidos, o Billboard Hot 100. Foi número 2 na Suíça e número 3 na Noruega. Ajudou a popularizar a música discoteca. Vendeu 11 milhões de discos no mundo inteiro. Usou um riff oriental quintessential que é usada pra simbolizar a cultura chinesa. Foi regravada por Jack Black e CeeLo Green, entre outros artistas. Foi gravada em 10 minutos, em dois takes.
