Trata-se de uma canção tradicional que a banda Jefferson Airplane
gravou no seu disco de 1969 chamado Volunteers. Foi arranjada e
cantada por Jorma Kaukonen, que tocava guitarra solo na banda.
Mas a canção surgiu no começo do século 19, com um pastor
metodista negro chamado Joohn Adam Granade, que fazia música, passou
pelo ggospel blues na década de 1930, passou pela década de 1950
como uma canção folk e foi gravada pelos Jefferson Airplane na sua
versão psicodélica e foi a versão que ficou mais conhecida.
