Ela escreveu-a enquanto dirigia com sua noiva de Nashville, Tennessee para Shreveport, Louisiana. Ele falava da sua primeira esposa Audrey Sheppard. Billie Jean Jones, sua então noiva, anotou a letra que ele ditou. Ele gravou-a na sua última sessão de gravação em Nashville. Escrita por John Lennon mas creditada à dupla Lennon/McCartney, foi gravada em 25 a 30 de julho de 1969 e lançada em 26 de setembro de 1969 no disco Abbey Road.

John compôs essa canção enquanto ainda estava na Índia, em 1968. Lennon disse que achava essa canção uma droga. John disse que compôs essa música se lembrando de um evento, em que um sujeito o levou a um apartamento com duas mulheres e uma delas queria conhecer John. Ela estava vestida em plástico. John logo pensou em sexo pervertido com sacos de plástico. Ele cantou em um forte sotaque de liverpool. O estilo de violão foi o mesmo de Pinball Wizard.

Escrita por Speedy Keen, foi lançada em maio de 1969, em um compacto que tinha Wilhelmina como Lado B. Foi número 1 no Reino Unido por 3 semanas.

Pete Townshend foi quem deu corda pra criação da banda. O negócio era tocar as músicas compostas pelo baterista e cantor Speedy Keen. Townshend chamou seu amigo e pianista Andy Thunderclap Newman e um garoto de 15 anos que tocava guitarra chamado Jimmy McCulloch, que depois iria tocar com Paul McCartney nos Wings de 1974 a 1977 e que morreria de overdose de cocaina em 1979, aos 26 anos. Keen cantava e tocava bateria.
