Escrita por Eric Bordon, foi lançada em novembro de 1968 em um compacto que tinha Anything como Lado B. Foi a canção que abriu o disco psicodélico deles Every One of us. Chegou ao número 67 nos charts pop americanos. E número 46 no Canadá.

Foi regravada pelo próprio Eric Burdon em 1995.

Escrita por John Lennon mas creditada à dupla Lennon/McCartney, foi gravada em 28 de junho de 1968 e lançada em 22 de novembro de 1968. Foi dada pra Ringo cantar. Somente ele aparece na gravação. O resto foi uma orquestra contratada.

John compôs a canção como uma canção de ninar pra seu filho de cinco anos Julian.

772 – Jefferson Airplane – Lather (1968)

Escrita por Grace Slick, foi gravada entre fevereiro e junho de 1968 e lançada em setembro de 1968 no disco Crown of Creation.

A canção fala de alguém que atende por Lather, que tem 30 anos e que ri do fato das pessoas terem uma expectativa sobre seu comportamento. Foi escrita pra o baterista do Jefferson Airplane Spencer Dryden, quando ele completou 30 anos.

Ela tava tirando onda com ele, amante dela na época, pois foi o primeiro da banda a atingir essa idade.

770 – The Beatles – Glass Onion (1968)

Escrita por John Lennon mas creditada à dupla Lennon/McCartney, foi gravada em 11 de setembro de 1968 e lançada em 22 de novembro de 1968 no Album Branco. É a primeira faixa a ter Ringo na bateria, pois as duas primeiras, Back in the USSR e Dear Prudence, Paul tocou bateria, devido à Ringo ter saído da banda temporariamente por desavenças.

A letra fala de muitas músicas dos Beatles, incluindo There's a place, Strawberry Fields forever, I am the walrus, Lady Madonna, The Fool on the hill e fixing a hole. John fala que o Walrus era Paul, querendo ser amigo, pois o relacionamento deles estava bem abalado na época.

John cantou e tocou violão. Paul tocou baixo, piano e backing vocals. George Harrison tocou guitarra saolo e Ringo tocou bateria e pandeiro. Teve tambem violinos, viola e cello por músicos contratados.

769 – Otis Redding – (Sittin' on) The dock of the bay (1968)

Escrita por Otis Redding e Steve Cropper, foi gravada em novembro e dezembro de 1967 e lançada em 8 de janeiro de 1968, em um compacto que tinha Sweet Lorene como Lado B. Pouco tempo depois de gravar, Otis morreu num acidente de avião e nunca viu sua música lançada. Ela se tornou o primeiro compacto póstumo a chegar ao número 1 dos charts pop americanos. Chegou também ao número 3 no Reino Unido.

Ele morreu no dia 10 de dezembro. Seu avião caiu no Lake Morona, em Wisconsin.

Redding começou a escrever a letra em agosto de 1967, sentado numa varanda em Sausalito, California. Ele terminou a canção com Cropper, guitarrista do Booker T and The Mgs. A canção tem um assobio e barulho de ondas batendo na orla.

Otis cantou, Sam Taylor assobiou. Ronnie Caldwell tocou teclado. Steve Cropper guitarra. Donald Dunn baixo. Al Jackson Jr. bateria. Andrew Love sax tenor e Wayne Jackson trompete e trombone. Chegou também ao número 7 no Canadá, número 3 na Nova Zelandia. Ganhou dois Grammies.

Foi regravada por Michael Bolton, Glen Campbell, Peggy Lee, Bob Dylan, Don Partridge, Percy Sledge, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Pearl Jam, Justin Timberlake, Sergio Mendes, entre outros.

Foi a sexta canção mais tocada do século 20, com 6 milhões de performances. É o número 28 das 500 maiores canções de todos os tempos da Rolling Stone Magazine.

Foi escrita inspirada na atria Lotte Lenya, em uma personagem que ela fez no filme The Threepenny Opera.

767 – The Beatles – Happiness is a warm gun (1968)

Escrita por John Lennon mas creditada à dupla Lennon/McCartney, foi gravada entre 23 a 26 de setembro de 1968, e lançada em 22 de novembro de 1968 no Album Branco.

O título veio de uma revista de armas, que dizia na capa: “A felicidade é uma arma quente”. John pensou que aquilo era uma coisa muito doida, pois uma arma quente quer dizer que você atirou em alguma coisa.

Paul McCartney e George Harrison disseram que Hapiness is a wamr gun é a canção favorita deles dois no Album Branco. Apesar das desavenças entre eles na época, todos trabalharam juntos no ritmo desafiador e na métrica da cancão. Começaram 7 da noite do dia 23 de setembro e terminou as 5 da manhã do dia 26 de setembro. George Martin tava de ferias e pediu a Chris Thomas pra produzir no seu lugar.

John cantou, tocou guitarra elétrica e fez backing vocal. Paul tocou baixo e faz backing vocal. George Harrison tocou guitarra solo e fez backing vocal. Ringo tocou bateria e pandeiro.

Escrita por Jim Morrison, foi gravada em fevereiro e maio de 1968 e lançada em junho do mesmo ano, num compacto que tinha Love Street como Lado B. Chegou ao número 1 nos Estados Unidos, vendendo mais de um milhão de cópias apenas nos Estados Unidos. Chegou também ao número 1 no Canadá. Foi o primeiro bihg hit da banda no Reino Unido, chegando ao décimo quinto lugar.

Jom Morrison escreveu-a em 1965. Ele estava bebendo muito em 1968 e era impossível trazê-lo pra gravar ou compor. Então foram procurar antigos poemas dele.

A canção fala de um cara que foi abandonado pela noiva no dia do casamento, que fugiu com um primo dele pra Virginia.

761 – The Beatles – Savoy Truffle (1968)

Escrita por George Harrison, foi gravada entre 3 e 14 de outubro de 1968 e lançada em 22 de novembro de 1968 no disco Album Branco. Foi inspirada no fato de Eric Clapton, grande amigo de George, gostar muito de chocolate. A letra fala de vários tipos de chocolates e avisa a Eric o mal que isso pode fazer aos dentes.

Puxada ao soul, a canção faz referencia à ob-la-di, ob-la-da. Foi regravada por Ella Fitzgerald. Foi composta em setembro de 1968, um período de grande desarmonia na banda. Savoy Truffle foi gravada um dia depois de George Harrison ter gravado Badge, pro LP do Cream qu estava pra sair. Seis saxofonistas tocaram na gravação. Eram todos muito conhecidos na cena de jazz britânica.

George Harrison cantou, tocou guitarra rítmica, guitarra solo, orgao Hammond e violão. Paul fez backing vocal e tocou baixo. Ringo tocou bateria e pandeiro.
