Foi produzida pelo próprio Paul Simon, juntamente com Art Garfunkel e Phil Ramone. Paul Simon diz que fala sobre uma pessoa que odeia a cidade onde nasceu e cresceu. Alguem que estava ansioso pra fugir daquele local. Simon disse que escreveu a musica pensando na cidade de Gloucester, Massachusetts. Comeca com um solo de piano tocado por Barry Beckett e bateria tocada por Roger Hawkins. Paul Simon entra com seu violao e Pete Carr toca guitarr. David Hood toca baixo e Ralph MacDonald toca percussao. Art Garfunkel e Paul Simon cantaram. My little town se tornou a oitava Top ten do Billboard Hot100 da dupla, chegando ao numero 9. Chegou tambem ao numero 2 no Canada e numero 8 na Espanha. Numero 17 na Holanda e 24 na Nova Zelandia. Numero 46 na Australia.
