Escrita por George Harrison, foi gravada em 7 de julho e 19 de agosto de 1969 e lançada no disco Abbey Road em 26 de setembro de 1969. Foi escrita na casa de campo de Eric Clapton, que ele havia ido pra fugir de uma reunião com os Beatles.

Foi regravada por Nina Simone, George Benson, Richie Havens, Booker T and The Mgs, Peter Tosh, Joe Brown, Sheryl Crow, Demi Lovato, Paul Simon, entre outros.

Quando compôs essa canção, no começo de 1969, estava sendo um período difícil pra George. Ele havia saído dos Beatles por um tempo, havia sido preso por porte de maconha e tinha passado por uma cirurgia para retirar as amídalas.

John Lennon não tocou na gravação pois estava convalescendo de um acidente de carro.

George harrison cantou, fez backing vocals, tocou violão e guitarra, orgao, sintetizador e bateu palmas. Paul fez backing vocals, tocou baixo e bateu palmas. Ringo tocou bateria e bateu palmas.

Escrita por John Fogerty, foi gravada em 1969 em Berkeley na California e lançada em setembro de 1969 num compacto que tinha Down on the corner como Lado A. Se tornou logo um hino do movimento anti-guerra. Um símbolo da contracultura se opondo ao envolvimento dos Estados Unidos na Guerra do Vietnã. E uma canção em solidariedade aos soldados que estavam lá lutando.

Chegou ao número 3 dos charts pop americanos. Ganhou disco de ouro. Pitchfork Media colocou-a como número 17 das 200 maiores canções dos anos 60. Rolling Stone Magazine colocou-a como canção número 99 das 500 maiores canções de todos os tempos. Escrita por Mick Jagger e Keith Richards, foi gravada em 23 de fevereiro e 2 de novembro de 1969 e lançada em 5 de dezembro de 1969, no dia que meu pai fez 21 anos, no disco Let it bleed. Na verdade, Gimme shelter abre o disco.

Merry Clayton faz uma participação especial nos vocais, convidada por jack Nitzsche. Ela entra depois do primeiro verso e canta os próximos três versos com Mick Jagger. Vem o solo de gaita de Jagger, o solo de guitarra de Richards e ela canta: “Rape, murder, it's just a shot away”. Nicky Hopkins tocou piano, Jimmy Miller tocou percussão, Charlie Watts tocou bateria, Bill Wyman tocou baixo, Mick jagger tocou gaita e cantou backing vocals com Richards e Clayton. Foi a única composição de Harrison que chegou ao número 1 no Reino Unido enquanto ele estava nos Beatles. John Lennon disse que era a melhor canção do disco Abbey Road e Paul disse que foi a melhor canção que George já fez na vida.

Além do Reino Unido, chegou ao número 1 nos Estados Unidos, Austrália, Canadá, Nova Zelandia e Alemanha Ocidental. Foi regravada por mais de 150 artistas, sendo a segunda música dos Beatles a ser mais regravada, perdendo apenas pra Yesterday.
