Escrita por Stephen Stills, foi gravada pelo Buffalo Springfield em 5 de dezembro de 1966 e lançada em janeiro de 1967 no compacto que tinha Do I have to come right and say it? como Lado B. Chegou ao número 7 dos charts pop americanos. É a canção de número 63 do ranking das 500 maiores canções de todos os tempos da revista Rolling Stone.

Foi inspirada nos protestos para que os bares não fechassem cedo na Sunset Strip, em Hollywood. Buffalo Springfield era a banda da casa no Whisky a Go Go em 1966, na Sunset Strip. Queriam fechar tudo às 10 da noite e a galera jovem foi à loucura. Houve muitos confrontos com a polícia e nesse contexto, essa música foi escrita.

Foi regravada por Cher, entre outros artistas.
