1812 – Neil Young – Lotta love (1978)

A letra:

It's gonna take a lotta love
To change the way things are.
It's gonna take a lotta love
Or we won't get too far.
So if you look in my direction
And we don't see eye to eye,
My heart needs protection
And so do I.

It's gonna take a lotta love
To get us thru the night.
It's gonna take a lotta love
To make things work out right.
So if you are out there waitin'

I hope you show up soon,
'Cause my heart needs relatin'
Not solitude.

Gotta lotta love
Gotta lotta love.
It's gonna take a lotta love
To change the way things are.
It's gonna take a lotta love
Or we won't get too far.
It's gonna take a lotta love
To change the way things are.
It's gonna take a lotta love
Or we won't get too far

A letra:

I don't care if you never come home
I don't mind if you just keep on rowin' away on a distant sea
'Cause I don't love you and you don't love me

You cause a commotion when you come to town
Give 'em a smile and they melt
Having lovers and friends is all good and fine
But I don't like yours and you don't like mine

La-la, la, la-la, la, la
La-la, la, la-la, la, la

I don't care what you do at night
Oh, and I don't care how you get your delights
I'm gonna leave you alone, I'll just let it be
I don't love you and you don't love me

I got a problem, can you relate
I got a woman callin' love hate
We made a vow we'd always be friends
How could we know that promises end

La-la, la, la-la, la, la
La-la, la, la-la, la, la

I tried to love you for years upon years
You refused to take me for real
It's time you saw what I want you to see
And I'd still love you if you'd just love me

I got a problem, can you relate
I got a woman callin' love hate
We made a vow we'd always be friends
How could we know that promises end

La-la, la, la-la, la, la
La-la, la, la-la, la, la
La-la, la, la-la, la, la
La-la, la, la-la, la, la

Whoa-oh-oh
La-la, la, la-la, la, la
Whoa-oh-oh
La-la, la, la-la, la, la

A letra:

Stepping out to Angellucci's for my coffee beans
Checking out the movies and the magazines
Waitress she watches me crossing from the Barocco Bar
I'm getting a pickup for my steel guitar

I saw you walking out Shaftesbury Avenue
Excuse me for talking I wanna marry you
This is the seventh heaven street to me
Don't seem so proud
You're just another angel in the crowd

And I'm walking in the wild west end
Walking in the wild west end
Walking with your wild best friend

And my conductress on the number nineteen
She was a honey
Pink toenails and hands all dirty with money
Greasy greasy greasy greasy hair, easy smile
She made me feel nineteen for a while

And I went down to Chinatown
In the backroom it's a man's world
All the money go down
Duck inside the doorway gotta duck to eat
Just in no way

You and me we can't beat

And I'm walking in the wild west end
Walking in the wild west end

Walking with your wild best friend

And a gogo dancing girl yes I saw her
The DJ he say here's Mandy for you
I feel alright to seen her
To do that stuff
She's dancing high I move on by
The close ups can get rough

When you're walking in the wild west end

Walking in the wild west end
Walking with your wild best friend ...

Walking... walking...

I can't breathe anymore
Why that is I'm not sure
I've got my feet on the ground
In fact I'm flat on the floor
My direction is lost
I should pause to take stock
It's a new one on me
To even dream that you're free
It's a tale without an end
But the end is there for all to see
And if the end weren't so real
Coming 'round and 'round again on me
I guess it's all about my pride
I want to be there at the kill
But with or without God on my side
I know that I really will

I've been working real hard, trying to get my hands clean
We'll drive that dusty road from Monroe to Angeline
To buy you a gold ring and pretty dress of blue
Baby just one kiss will get these things for you
A kiss to seal our fate tonight

A kiss to prove it all night

Prove it all night
Girl there's nothing else that we can do
So prove it all night
Prove it all night
And girl I'll prove it all night for you

Everybody's got a hunger, a hunger they can't resist
There's so much that you want, you deserve much more than this
But if dreams came true, oh, wouldn't that be nice
But this ain't no dream we're living through tonight
Girl, you want it, you take it, you pay the price

Prove it all night
Prove it all night
Prove it all night girl and call the bluff
We'll prove it all night
Prove it all night
Girl I'll prove it all night for your love

Baby, tie your hair back in a long white bow
Meet me in the fields out behind the dynamo
You hear their voices telling you not to go
They've made their choices and they'll never know
What it means to steal, to cheat, to lie
What it's like to live and die

Prove it all night
Prove it all night
Girl there's nothing else that we can do
So prove it all night
Prove it all night
And girl I'll prove it all night for you

I'll prove it all night
I'll prove it all night
I'll prove it all night
I'll prove it all night
I'll prove it all night
I'll prove it all night
I'll prove it all night
I'll prove it all night

I got to know, got to know, got to know now
Ah, ah, ah, I'm willing and able
So I throw my cards on your table

I wanna love you
I wanna love and treat
Love and treat you right
I wanna love you
Every day and every night

We'll be together
With a roof right over our heads
We'll share the shelter, yeah, oh-yeah

A letra:

Think I'll go out to Alberta
Weather's good there in the fall
I got some friends that I could go to working for
Still, I wish you'd change your mind
If I ask you one more time
But we've been through this a hundred times or more

Four strong winds that blow lonely
Seven seas that run high
All those things that don't change, come what may
If the good times are all gone
Then I'm bound for moving on
I'll look for you if I'm ever back this way

If I get there before the snow flies
And if things are looking good
You could meet me if I send you down the fare
But by then it would be winter
Not too much for you to do
And those winds sure can blow cold way out there

Four strong winds that blow lonely
Seven seas that run high
All those things that don't change, come what may
The good times are all gone
So I'm bound for moving on
I'll look for you if I'm ever back this way

Still, I wish you'd change your mind
If I ask you one more time
But we've been through that a hundred times or more

Four strong winds that blow lonely
Seven seas that run high
All those things that don't change, come what may
If the good times are all gone
Then I'm bound for moving on
I'll look for you if I'm ever back this way
I'll look for you if I'm ever back this way

He gave to you a golden ring
It made you happy, it made you sing
And I played for you on my guitar
It didn't last long, we didn't go far

And though the times have changed
We're rearranged
Will the ties that bind remain the same?

You came around after a while
Everyone said that I made you smile
It all went well, and suddenly then
You heard that he would marry again

He gave to you a golden ring
It made you happy, it made you sing
And I played for you on my guitar
It didn't last long, we didn't go far

Well I know that I have been here before
I've trod on your wings, I've opened the door
If I gave to you a golden ring
Would I make you happy, would I make you sing?

He gave to you a golden ring
It made you happy, it made you sing
And I played for you on my guitar
It didn't last long, we didn't go far

He gave to you a golden ring
It made you happy, it made you sing
And I played for you on my guitar
It didn't last long, we didn't go far

A letra:

You get a shiver in the dark
It's a raining in the park but meantime
South of the river you stop and you hold everything
A band is blowing Dixie, double four time
You feel alright when you hear the music ring

Well now you step inside but you don't see too many faces
Coming in out of the rain they hear the jazz go down
Competition in other places
Uh but the horns they blowin' that sound
Way on down south
Way on down south
London town

You check out guitar George, he knows-all the chords
Mind, it's strictly rhythm he doesn't want to make it cry or sing
They said an old guitar is all, he can afford
When he gets up under the lights to play his thing

And Harry doesn't mind, if he doesn't, make the scene
He's got a daytime job, he's doing alright
He can play the Honky Tonk like anything
Savin' it up, for Friday night
With the Sultans
We're the Sultans of Swing

Then a crowd a young boys they're a foolin' around in the corner
Drunk and dressed in their best brown baggies and their platform soles
They don't give a damn about any trumpet playin' band
It ain't what they call Rock and Roll
And the Sultans
Yeah, the Sultans, they play Creole
Creole

And then the man he steps right up to the microphone
And says at last just as the time bell rings
"Goodnight, now it's time to go home"
Then he makes it fast with one more thing

"We are the Sultans
We are the Sultans of Swing"

What am I suspended here?
Should I kid myself that I have no fear?
I get no choice, I just have to wait
It may already be too late

I don't know what's going on
She is here, but I am gone, I am gone

My love is lying here
She's far away though she looks so near
'Time will tell, " she says to me
When a warm ?...? is all I need

Her peace of mind, her strength of will
It will come, she's sure it will
But how can I put my mind at rest?
I feel I'm coming off second best

And I'm cut with my own life
Is this a dream or is it real life?
Oh, sleep, come on me soon
I can't bear this lonely room

Look at that hair lying there
The room is dark, she shows no fear
I'm lying still, my eyes are wide
My heart is pumping, I'm still alive

I'm still awake against my will
What will it ever take to still this burning in me?

1802 – Bruce Springsteen – Darkness on the edge of town (1978)

Garry Tallent tocou baixo. Steve Van Zandt tocou guitarra. Max Weinberg tocou bateria.

A letra:

They're still racing out at the Trestles
But that blood it never burned in her veins
Now I hear she's got a house up in Fairview
And a style she's trying to maintain

Well if she wants to see me
You can tell her that I'm easily found
Tell her there's a spot out 'neath Abram's Bridge
And tell her there's a darkness on the edge of town
There's a darkness on the edge of town

Well, everybody's got a secret, Sonny
Something that they just can't face
Some folks spend their whole lives trying to keep it
They carry it with them every step that they take

'Til someday they just cut it loose
Cut it loose or let it drag 'em down
Where no one asks any questions
Or looks too long in your face
In the darkness on the edge of town
In the darkness on the edge of town

Now some folks are born into a good life
And other folks get it anyway, anyhow
Well now I lost my money and I lost my wife
Them things don't seem to matter much to me now

Tonight I'll be on that hill 'cause I can't stop
I'll be on that hill with everything I got
Lives on the line where dreams are found and lost
I'll be there on time and I'll pay the cost
For wanting things that can only be found
In the darkness on the edge of town
In the darkness on the edge of town

People in love do funny things
Walk under buses and burn their wings
People like us do nothing right
Talk to the ceiling into the night

Look at the smile in her eyes
I knew I was right in my bones
I feel the turnin' of wheels as it grows
Look at my face in her eyes
Am I right am I wrong
She's given me butterflies all along

Ooh sitting alone in the dark (hey, hey)
Ooh feeling you close to me
We're in a dream but the hands on the clock seem to know
Tell me it's time to go

People in love play silly games
Running in circles and everywhere
People like us can make believe
Love is forever and I'll never be

Ooh sitting alone in the dark (hey, hey)
Ooh feeling you close to me
We're in a dream but the hands on the clock seem to know
Tell us it's time to go

A letra:

I can't budge baby I can't move without your love to guide me
I don't know honey that's the truth what laid you down beside me,
Heat me with your love oh, your lips were meant for mine
Nobody else can bake me like a, no no no, like a
Bonfire, your love is like a bonfire burning deep within me
Now some folks said it's no good to smoke in bed
Um, but I just turn off my ears and I jump into the fire again

I feel so weak, yea, I can't sleep without you there to hold me
Promise me you won't ever leave or I would die so coldly,
Kiss me with your eyes, please don't let it rain
Don't kick no dust on my
Bonfire, your love is like a bonfire burning deep within me
Now it just grows, no matter where the wind blows
Yeah but since you touched me I can't hide it
I've been so delighted with you

Yeah, heat me with your love, ah ah
You opened up my heart, I just can't live without you,
Oh, I just couldn't live another day, your my
Bonfire, your love is like a bonfire burning deep within me
Now some folks said it's no good to smoke in bed uh, huh
But I just take off my clothes and I jump into the fire again

A letra:

I can't seem to face up to the facts
I'm tense and nervous and I can't relax
I can't sleep 'cause my bed's on fire
Don't touch me, I'm a real live wire

Psycho Killer
Qu'est-ce que c'est?
Fa-fa-fa-fa, fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa, better
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run away, oh-oh-oh
Psycho Killer
Qu'est-ce que c'est?
Fa-fa-fa-fa, fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa, better
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run away, oh, oh, oh, oh
Ay-ya-ya-ya-ya-ya, ooh

You start a conversation, you can't even finish it
You're talking a lot, but you're not saying anything
When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed
Say something once, why say it again?

Psycho Killer
Qu'est-ce que c'est?
Fa-fa-fa-fa, fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa, better
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run away, oh-oh-oh
Psycho Killer
Qu'est-ce que c'est?
Fa-fa-fa-fa, fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa, better
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run away, oh, oh, oh, oh
Ay-ya-ya-ya-ya-ya

Ce que j'ai fait, ce soir-là
Ce qu'elle a dit, ce soir-là
Réalisant mon espoir
Je me lance vers la gloire, okay
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
We are vain and we are blind
I hate people when they're not polite

Psycho Killer
Qu'est-ce que c'est?
Fa-fa-fa-fa, fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa, better
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run away, oh-oh-oh
Psycho Killer
Qu'est-ce que c'est?
Fa-fa-fa-fa, fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa, better
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run away, oh, oh, oh, oh
Ai-ya-ya-ya-ya-ya, ooh
