149 – Chuck Berry – Let it rock (1960)

Canção escrita por Chuck Berry e lancada no seu album Rockin’ at the Hops, de 1960. Foi lancada também como compacto simples, chegando ao número 64 dos charts pop americanos e numero 6 nos charts ingleses. 

A canção trata de um sujeito que trabalha na empresa de trem que vai pegar os trabalhadores. Já foi regravada pelos Rolling Stones, pelo Motorhead, Jerry Garcia, os Yardbyrds, Bob Seger e pelos Stray Cats.

Os Stones gostam muito dessa música. Foi gravada por eles ao vivo no Leeds, em 1971, e foi lançada como Lado B do compacto que teve Brown Sugar como Lado A, em 1971, na Inglaterra apenas e foi incluída na versão em espanhol de Sticky Fingers.

Em 1972, os Stones lançaram Let it rock como um compacto simples na Alemanha, co Blow with Ry, do álbum Jamming with Edward, de 1972. Let it rock também abre o vídeo do concerto The Rollling Stones: Some girls live in Texas ’78, lançado em 2011.
