197 – Bobby Vee – Take good care of my baby (1961)

Escrita pelo casal de compositores Carole King e Geoff Goffin, foi lancada inicialmente por Bobby Vee, em 1961, pelo selo Liberty. Logo que lancada, chegou ao numero 1 dos charts pop americanos. Chegou tambem ao numero1 dos charts ingleses.

Essa foi uma das musicas que os Beatles tocaram quando foram fazer uma audicao na Decca Records, em primeiro de janeiro de 1962, e que foram devidamente despachados de volta pra casa.

Dion Di Mucci tambem gravou uma versao. Gary Lewis and The Playboys gravaram uma versão em 1965, no album She’s just my style. Em 1968, foi um hit novamente com Bobby Vinton, mesmo que sua versao chegou apenas ao numero 33 dos charts pop americanos.  

Bobby Vee viria a regravar a cancao novamente em 1973, só que na forma de balada, no album Ain’t nothing like a sunny day. Ao procurar, procure pelo nome verdadeiro de Bobby Vee, que é Robert Thomas Velline.
