A letra:

I wasn't jealous before we met
Now every woman I see is a potential threat
And I'm possessive, it isn't nice
You've heard me saying that smoking was my only vice

But now it isn't true
Now everything is new
And all I've learned has overturned
I beg of you

Don't go wasting your emotion
Lay all your love on me

It was like shooting a sitting duck
A little small talk, a smile, and baby I was stuck
I still don't know what you've done with me
A grown-up woman should never fall so easily

I feel a kind of fear
When I don't have you near
Unsatisfied, I skip my pride
I beg you, dear

Don't go wasting your emotion
Lay all your love on me
Don't go sharing your devotion
Lay all your love on me

I've had a few little love affairs
They didn't last very long and they've been pretty scarce
I used to think I was sensible
It makes the truth even more incomprehensible

'Cause everything is new
And everything is you
And all I've learned has overturned
What can I do?

Don't go wasting your emotion
Lay all your love on me
Don't go sharing your devotion
Lay all your love on me

Don't go wasting your emotion
Lay all your love on me
Don't go sharing your devotion
Lay all your love on me
Don't go wasting your emotion
Lay all your love on me

A letra:

Les boys do cabaret
Les boys are glad to be gay
They're not afraid now
A disco bar in Germany
Les boys are glad to be
Upon parade now

Les boys got leather straps
Les boys got SS caps
But they got no gun now
Get dressed up get a little risqué
Got to do a little s & m these days
It's all in fun now

Les boys come on again
For the high class whores
And the businessmen
Who drive in their Mercedes Benz
To a disco bar in old München

Well now they get the jokes that the d.j. makes
They get so nervous and they make mistakes
They're bad for business
Some tourist take a photograph (take a photograph)
Les boys don't get one laugh
He says they're useless

Les boys come on again
For the high class whores
And the businessmen
Who drive in their Mercedes Benz
To a disco bar in old München

Late at night when they've gone away
Les boys dream of Jean Genet
High heel shoes and a black beret
And the posters on the wall that say
Les boys do cabaret
Les boys are glad to be gay

Les boys do cabaret
Les boys are glad to be gay
Les boys do cabaret
Les boys are glad to be gay
Les boys do cabaret
Les boys are glad to be gay
Les boys do cabaret
Les boys are glad to be gay
Les boys do cabaret
Les boys are glad to be gay
Les boys do cabaret
Les boys do cabaret

There's always a way
Where there's a will
There's always a way (Way, way, way, way)

Soul train is coming our way, er!
Zion train is coming our way

Two thousand years of history (History)
Could not be wiped away so easily
Two thousand years of history (Black history)
Could not be wiped so easily (Could not be wiped so easily)

A letra:

Starting a landslide in my ego
Look from the outside
To the world I left behind

I'm dreaming
You're awake
If I were sleeping
What's at stake
A day without me

Whatever the feelings
I keep feeling
What are the feelings
You left behind

Today's a day without me

I started a landslide in my ego
Look from the outside
To the world I left behind

In the world I left behind
Wipe their eyes, and then let go
To the world I left behind
Shed a tear, and then let go

2037 – Bruce Springsteen – Independence day (1980)

Bruce disse que o coração e a alma do disco eram Independence day, Point blank, Stolen car e The River. Ou seja, é uma das quatro canções mais importantes do disco pro próprio Bruce. Fala de um lar que já não pode mais ter pai e filho juntos no mesmo teto. A canção é cantada do filho falando pro pai. Começa com a frase: “Papa go to bed now, it's getting late”, mudando a ordem natural que era o pai dizendo isso pro filho. O filho então reconhece que apesar de algumas similaridades, eles dois brigam demais e é hora do filho partir. É conhecida como melhor trabalho vocal de Bruce, com uma sinceridade brutal que fortalece a canção. Foi escrita ainda em 1977. Bruce cantou e tocou guitarra. Roy Bittan tocou piano. Clarence Clemons tocou sax e pandeiro. Danny Federici tocou orgão. Gary Tallent tocou baixo. Steve Van Zandt tocou guitarra. Max Weinberg tocou bateria.

A letra:

Well Papa go to bed now it's getting late
Nothing we can say is gonna change anything now
I'll be leaving in the morning from St. Mary's Gate
We wouldn't change this thing even if we could somehow
Cause the darkness of this house has got the best of us
There's a darkness in this town that's got us too
But they can't touch me now
And you can't touch me now
They ain't gonna do to me
What I watched them do to you

So say goodbye it's Independence Day
It's Independence Day
All down the line
Just say goodbye it's Independence Day
It's Independence Day this time

Now I don't know what it always was with us
We chose the words, and yeah, we drew the lines
There was just no way this house could hold the two of us
I guess that we were just too much of the same kind

Well say goodbye it's Independence Day
It's Independence Day all boys must run away
So say goodbye it's Independence Day
All men must make their way come Independence Day

Now the rooms are all empty down at Frankie's joint
And the highway she's deserted clear down to Breaker's Point
There's a lot of people leaving town now
Leaving their friends, their homes
At night they walk that dark and dusty highway all alone

Well Papa go to bed now, it's getting late
Nothing we can say can change anything now
Because there's just different people coming down here now and they see things in different ways
And soon everything we've known will just be swept away

So say goodbye it's Independence Day
Papa now I know the things you wanted that you could not say
But won't you just say goodbye it's Independence Day
I swear I never meant to take those things away

2036 – Neil Young – Captain Kennedy (1980)

A letra:

I am a young mariner headed to war
I'm thinking about my family and what it was for
There's water on the wood and the sails feel good
And when I get to shore
I hope that I can kill good

My father was a sailor named Captain Kennedy
He lost his wooden schooner to the Germans on the sea
Exploded on the water for everyone to see
And humiliate that American Captain Kennedy

I saw him in Nassau in nineteen-seventy one
His strength was failing but he still ran a run
He worked until his fingers wore to the bone
To buy that wooden schooner and sail on his own

He was known in the islands as hundred foot iron
That steel hull freighter was passing its time
And time flew by faster with life on the sea
And the days grew shorter for Captain Kennedy

I am a young mariner headed to war
I'm thinking about my family and what it was for
There's water on the wood and the sails feel good
And when I get to shore
I hope that I can kill good
