Escrita por Roger Waters, foi gravada entre abril e novembro de 1979 no disco The Wall, o décimo primeiro da banda, em 30 de novembro de 1979. Foi produzida por Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Bob Ezrin e James Guthrie. Na parte 3, depois de um crise nervosa violenta, o personagem Pink coloca todo mundo que ele conhece na condição de apenas tijolos na parede. Roger Waters tocou baixo, David Gilmour tocou guitarra, Nick Mason tocou bateria e Richard Wright tocou sintetizador.
