Escrita por Mick Jagger e Keith Richards, foi gravada em agosto e novembro de 1966, foi lançada em janeiro de 1967, num compacto que era lado A de Ruby Tuesday, que também era Lado, duplo As. Foi gravada nos estúdios Olympic Sound, em Londres. Chegou ao número 3 nos hits britânicos, enquanto Ruby Tuesday nunca entrou. Já nos Estados Unidos, chegou ao número 55, por causa do boicote das rádios ao tema sugestivo sexual, mas Ruby Tuesday chegou ao número 1.

Tem na gravação o piano de Jack Nitzsche, órgão e guitarra elétrica tocada por Brian Jones, bateria com Charlie Watts, piano, guitarra elétrica e baixo tocado por Keith Richards e os vocais principais por Mick Jagger. O backing vocal foi feito por Jagger e Richards. Não se sabe porque, Bill Wyman não participou da gravação de Let's spend the night together.

Foi também número 3 na Austria, número 7 na Bélgica, número 1 na Alemanha, número 14 na Irlanda e número 2 na Noruega.

Foi regravada por David Bowie em 1973, por Muddy Waters em 1968, por Jerry Garcia em 1974, por Tinma Turner em 1975, entre outros.
