499 – The Yardbirds – Evil hearted you (1965)

Escrita por Graham Gouldman, foi lançada em outubro de 1965 pelos Yardbirds, em um compacto que tinha Still I'm sad no Lado B.

Chegou ao número 3 no Reino Unido. Não foi lançado nos Estados Unidos como compacto. A canção ficou bastante conhecida pelo seu solo de guitarra, que continha escalas espanholas, o que é altamente pouco usada em 1965.

Em 1978, Paul Weller usou a frase “Smiling, Beguiling” da letra para a musica Down in the tube station at midnight, do The Jam.

A canção foi regravada pelos Pixies totalmente em espanhol.
